The Hungry Head Reserve is sheltered behind the Surf Club and observation platform adjacent to the cabins. Whilst staying at Hungry Head Cabins or whilst visiting the Reserve, it is not unusual to be visited by any of the wildlife that are lucky enough to call Hungry Head Reserve their home. Kangaroos, wallabies, possums, bandicoots, kookaburras, currawongs and many other species of bird and animal like also frequent the area.
